The responsibility of Head of Institutional Sales is to lead Swedbank Roburs Institutional Sales team and develop Roburs business with and offering to external investors and third party distributional sales channels. A successful candidate has a strong track record on strategic and operational level, creating value for investors and shareholders and a positive and dynamic environment for team members.

About the job
The position includes strategic development of Roburs business position, product range and offering within the Swedish market, create and develop business relations and create value for Robur and our investors based on our strategy Simplicity, Sustainability and Innovation. As Head of Institutional sales you will work in a consultative way in order to create partnership and develop Roburs position, as well as the Swedish standards for asset management, for example setting industry standards within sustainable asset management.
You lead a team of total 10 persons and you report to Robur Head of Sales.

The teams customer and prospect base in Sweden market is focused on Tier One and Tier Two asset owners such as insurance companies and AP-funds to municipalities, corporates and endowments and third party distribution and investment advisors.
Expansion outside Sweden is incremental.

Important part of the role will include

  • Lead the team setting strategies, workflows, KPIs, budget and to follow up, including key account management, market analysis and new sales activities
  • With a consultative approach meet customers and prospects in a dialogue relating investment policy, ALM, governance structure and investment strategies in institutional asset classes
  • Personally establish and develop business relations with the most complex, demanding and high profile investors in the Swedish market.
  • Lead by example and showing a high level of activity on key KPI:s and results (customer and prospects meetings, and net sales net income)
  • Represent Robur in different situations, such as industry seminars, panels, interviews, marketing events, business meetings
  • Contributing to Swedbank Robur being the industry-leader within sustainable asset management

In close cooperation within Robur with for example CEO office, Operations, Product development, Head of Equities, Quant and Fixed Income work within Robur to continuously develop and strengthen product offering, sustainability framework, sales support and presentation, reporting, integrate with market and communication, analysis frameworks, investment process and legislative requirements

Work within Swedbank's central functions to develop the Robur offering

  • Closely follow legislative development
  • Closely follow global macro, investment trends and themes
  • Market and competitor analysis

What you need to succeed

The position requires very strong general management capabilities, such as values driven leadership and lean management with a strong record of driving change and creating exceptional sales results.

  • Strong network and proven track record of delivering sales results within asset management.
  • University degree in relevant areas
  • Strong communicational competence - both spoken and written.
  • Successful experience from sales management, business strategy and development, account management, sales and project management.
  • Requirements of competence within finance include strong knowledge in asset management, investment policy frameworks and governance, portfolio construction, ALM analysis, sustainability, institutional investment management and product development of investment strategies.
  • Profound knowledge and overview of products, actors, business models and ecosystem as well as strong network within Swedish third party fund distribution, investment consultants, wealth management systems, Swedish life insurance, AP funds, municipalities, endowment funds, etc.
  • Profound knowledge of legislative frameworks, for example MiFID I and II, Basel I and II, Solvency II, AIF, SICAV, UCITS and their implications on business models and product offerings

Examples of product specific competence include

  • Multi asset solutions – segregated accounts and packaged multi asset solutions
  • Fixed Income – actively managed strategies, regional and global
  • Listed Equity – Beta, risk-factor based and alfa strategies, regional and global
  • Alternative strategies such as hedge funds, real estate, private equity, private dept etc
  • And strong experience from integrating sustainability analysis within all product lines
  • Swedsec License
  • Fluent in Swedish and English

What you may have worked with previously

  • At least 10 years' experience from a manager role, formal or thought within institutional sales and third party distribution in asset management.
  • Strong network and proven track record of delivering sales results within asset management.
  • Successful experience of change management
