Husqvarna Group is looking for an Indirect Commodity Manager to join the Husqvarna Indirect Sourcing team. In this role you will be managing CAPEX sourcing in various investment projects. You will ensure the quality, delivery, cost efficiency and sustainability of supply throughout the product lifecycle.

Your department:
Sourcing at Husqvarna Division is organized in several functions securing quality, delivery, cost efficiency and sustainability of supply to the Brand Division Husqvarna on a global level. One of the key functions within Sourcing is Indirect Sourcing, which focuses on commercial relationships with suppliers and the business in managing all indirect material procurement.

The Indirect Sourcing function is responsible for aggregating purchases and strategies across all the Husqvarna Brand Division facilities. The Indirect Sourcing function is to ensure that the greatest value is provided to the organization’s internal customers through optimal sourcing of cost and terms for indirect material and services.

Your future challenge:
The main mission for the role is to make sure that Husqvarna has the right sourcing for capital investments, such as machinery and automation lines, to the Chainsaw manufacturing and SmartPlant. This function will also be responsible for establishing a solid long term platform of preferred suppliers. This is accomplished by thorough technical understanding of specific requirements from internal stakeholders, a continuous evaluation of existing and potential suppliers and by having a high level of negotiations and contracting skills.

Responsibilities include:

  • Be ultimately in charge of all commercial relationships with suppliers within the assigned commodity CAPEX, securing targeted levels of cost, quality, delivery precision, sustainability, etc.
  • Form a long term strategy of how to deliver the greatest value for indirect sourcing in your assigned commodity and crafting a plan how to achieve it. This includes setting commodity targets, e.g. with regards to cost reduction, supplier reduction, specification standardization, operational purchasing strategy, etc.

  • Drive value by implementing strategic sourcing and entering into cost efficient agreements that fulfil supply requirements, by using a systematic methodology and a continuous total cost of ownership focus. Oversee and own the negotiation, development and maintenance of vendor agreements. Lead critical negotiations

  • Manage supplier relationships to drive supplier performance, contract effectiveness, collaboration and integration and deliver improved result. Build and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with key vendors with the objective of reducing costs and eliminating efficiencies

Who you are:
We believe you have a passion for, as well as significant experience within sourcing/purchasing, preferably from commodity management. Experience of sourcing CAPEX (equipment for production and automation) or other indirect commodities is an advantage. You could also have a sales background from engineering industry where you have sold this kind of commodities. You are a self-motivated team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills who thrive in a dynamic and challenging environment. You have the ability to independently manage complex sourcing projects/initiatives with different stakeholders (both internal and external). You are a true problem solver who enjoys reducing ambiguity and you are constantly moving forward.

To be a suitable candidate for the role, we believe you have the following:

• Strong influence and negotiation skills, including an ability to lead international and multi-cultural teams and work with internal stakeholders where you drive the purchasing agenda in the indirect purchasing field

• Ability to define a vision and strategy for purchasing in the Husqvarna Division

• Deep insights in the purchasing environment of indirect sourcing field sufficient to analyze business purchasing issues, recommend solutions and strategies and implement changes

• Strong planning, organization, analytical, and problem solving skills

• Excellent knowledge of the strategic sourcing methodology and its application in for example fact based negotiations and cross functional team collaboration

• Capabilities in managing strategic supplier relationships, including relationship building, performance, development and integration
