An international Operations manager with a strategic view

We are looking for an Operations Manager, based at Husqvarna Construction in Jonsered, with overall responsible of our departments: Production (three factories globally), purchasing and Supply & Demand. As the Operations Manager you will be overall responsible, from a operations perspective, in our two main processes to develop and deliver products and services. The Operations Manager provides direction and leadership in the area of continuous improvement for our Production, Purchase and Supply & Demand departments and you take lead in developing and implementing strategic direction for the Category operation, usually also in cooperation with relevant functions within the Group. Your work has clear KPIs and targets for PQDC, People, Quality, Delivery and Cost, more specifically, performance and people management, on-time delivery, product quality, effective inventory management throughout the whole supply chain, flexibility and manufacturing productivity and profitability in compliance with EHS policies and regulations..

Key responsibilities and tasks include:

  • Ultimately responsible for creating conditions and process flow cross the different departments - Production, Purchase and Supply & Demand by having a helicopter business perspective, setting the strategic plan and a common and efficient way of working

  • Responsible to ensure synergies, cost- efficiency and identify business improvements

  • Ensure a Best-in-class manufacturing organisation and operational excellence implemented through LEAN processes and manufacturing principles utilizing synergies between factories.

  • Responsible for representing Husqvarna Construction in various fora within Husqvarna Group - visualizing our strategic plans, initiatives and activities and implement Group common decisions.

  • Establish close co-operation and network within Husqvarna Group.

  • Direct reports are managers for Purchasing, Supply & Demand, Quality/Lean and Factory managers. The whole organization consists of about 75 white collar and 115 Blue collar.

  • You will be based in Jonsered, but since our factories are based in China, Sweden and USA travelling should not be an issue.

  • Managing quality assurance and control programmes, lean implementation and follow-up and inventory optimization and service rate.

  • Researching new technologies and alternative methods of efficiency and improved quality.

  • Execute new product launches in line with Product development project plans.

  • Setting and reviewing budgets and managing cost.

We are looking for an internationally experienced Operations manager (or similar) with minimum Bachelor’s degree and five years of management experience, including change management experience across multiple sites. You have good understanding of a Operation Management position including Quality Assurance and Control, Lean principles and Inventory optimization. Our production is characterized by low volumes and high requirements of flexibility while short lead times and effective communication is vital. You have gained extensive strategic and operative experience within the field after being responsible for managing production and supply chain flows. It is an advantage if you have experience from working in an international matrix environment and you have extensive experience from senior stakeholder management

As a person you have strong leadership skills and demonstrated ability to coach and persuade in English and Swedish is required. You have a systematic approach and strategic view, strong analytical and problem solving skills as well as strong planning and organization skills. You have good interpersonal, teamwork and communication skills. You are results oriented and manage effectively multiple priorities simultaneously and meets set deadlines. Most of all you have the ability to adapt to changes and knows how to prioritize work.
