Travel policy development and purchasing of travel commodities

Husqvarna Group is looking for a Global Commodity Manager Travel who will take a global responsibility for travel policy development and purchasing of travel related services. The Global Commodity Manager Travel will belong to Husqvarna Divisions Indirect Sourcing department, but will be responsible for aggregating purchases and strategies across all the Husqvarna Divisions. The Indirect Sourcing function is to ensure that the greatest value is provided to the organization’s internal customers through optimal sourcing of cost and terms for indirect material and services.

In this role you will have a two-fold responsibility where you conduct the procurement of the travel services, drive annual negotiations with suppliers and at the same time monitor and make sure that corporate travel policies are complied with. In procurement, your challenge will be to ensure Husqvarna´s global purchasing strategies and practices by delivering procurement savings and working capital improvements. This includes supplier management with vendors such as travel management companies, card providers, airlines, hotels, rental car providers, technology suppliers (T&E software suppliers). Risk management in relation to travelling routines is also included. In relation to travel policy development you will have the responsibility to ensure development of effective and sustainable corporate travel policies, by monitoring, analyzing and acting on travelling activities in order to ensure compliance in all aspects of travel procedures.

Your main accountabilities:

  • Develop and drive Husqvarna´s global travel procurement strategy

  • Develop Husqvarna global travel policies  and ensure compliance in al aspects of travel procedures – i e continuously monitoring, analyzing and taking actions on nonconforming travelling activities

  • Procurement and implementation of a global system solution for T&E

  • Partner with other functional leadership and key stakeholders to ensure lowest cost for travel related spend

  • Develop & implement strategies to enable global spend leverage, competitive pricing, quality, delivery and risk management with the supply base

  • Negotiate strategic agreements with travel suppliers to maximize the benefits for Husqvarna

  • Develop and maintain effective global supplier relationships and service levels to support business needs

  • Understand competitive trends in travel markets for alternate services to ensure Husqvarna has the "right" competitive supply solutions

  • Ensure sustainability and cost efficiency in relation to travelling and  meeting policies and routines

  • Drive change of employee attitudes and behaviors in relation to travelling according to the global policies

Who you are
We believe you have at least 5 years experience from indirect sourcing of services in a global context, preferably travel related services and/or corporate travel management. You possess strong skills in data collection, analysis, and presentation. You have a management presence; being able to solicit confidence and respect by demonstrating skills, knowledge and ability with members of team as well as others within the organization at all levels. This role requires outstanding people skills and ability to work effectively in a heavily matrixed and team based environment.

To be a suitable candidate for the role, we believe you have the following:

  • Minimum Bachelor´s degree in business administration or equivalent

  • 5 years experience from purchasing of services such as business travel solutions, cards or other relevant services

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of business travel and corporate card industries

  • Experience from collaborating and working in international multi-cultural teams

  • Good commercial understanding

  • Strong planning-, organizational-, analytical- and problem solving skills

  • Ability to manage various internal stakeholders and their expectations

  • Enable to quickly identify key challenges and find solution(s) to these challenges in a structured manner

  • Ability to work on strategic, tactical and operational levels

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, Swedish and/or German
