Hoist Finance is looking for a driven and experienced accountant to strengthen our Finance team in Stockholm.

The role
As our Accountant, you will have an important role in the finance accounting team reporting to the Head of Accounting for parent companies. You will have a wide range of responsibilities, working with both accounting of daily settlement for treasury operations and developing and improving the processes for treasury transactions. This is a role suited for you who has experience from a financial services environment.

You will be Finance spokesperson towards banks and group Treasury. We see that you have an interest in financial transactions. You have excellent team working skills and are a good communicator with the ability to build good relationships across the business.

The accountant is the owner of the P&L and Balance sheet for all treasury transactions covering deposits, internal loans, interest, issued bonds and our liquidity portfolio. This will also include managing internal loans to European subsidiaries. You will ensure accounting is according to Swedish GAAP and IFRS.

You will participate in the work with preparing documentation for the monthly currency hedging and analyse outcome. You will drive projects to improve hedging currency risk from a Finance perspective.

The role takes ownership of daily reconciliation to our deposits and will be Finance contact to HoistSpar customer services. As our accountant you will be part of developing projects for our software for deposits and contribute to improving the IT-system and testing at go live periods.

The accountant will be in charge of the accounting for the cash pool and communicate with all connected subsidiaries for interest rates. You will be working in multiple currencies and will liaise with staff across Europe. You will participate in the work with setting up cash flow reporting for Swedish entities 

With this role comes responsibility for delivering monthly financial statements, assisting in creating financial report packages to Group Accounting. As a team member of a finance team of four, you will partly work with completing invoicing and expenses duties as well as be comfortable taking ownership of other accounts in P&L and Balance Sheet. We see that you have a prestigeless attitude and a willingness to learn new things. 

The role requires a self-organised individual with strong communication and problem solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced and moving environment. You will be flexible and have the ability to work accurately without supervision. You pay attention to details and perform work duties thoroughly and responsibly. We see that you have experience of developing and operating internal controls. The successful candidate will need to be comfortable working with colleagues across Europe, as part of the accounting team for the parent company.

Main areas of responsibility

  • Work with daily operations in the Finance department, as bank reconciliation for overnight, CSA and cash pool transactions
  • Daily reconciliation of deposits and the liquidity portfolio
  • Bookkeeping for interest on internal loans and on issued bonds
  • Participate in setting up new internal loan agreement with subsidiaries
  • Preparing currency exposure reports and analysis for the foreign exchange hedging programme
  • Contact towards banks, managing bank accounts for Swedish entities
  • Yearly reporting to tax authorities for deposit customers
  • Contact with outsourced payroll
  • Manage payroll tax fillings and payments
  • Participate in the monthly financial closing, managing reconciliation of complex accounts in P&L and Balance Sheets
  • Participate in the try out of new releases of the deposit system by testing and giving feedback on improvements
  • Ensure accounting is according to Swedish GAAP and IFRS
  • Participate in projects with the Treasury department

Desired skills and experience

  • 2+ years working in a financial services environment
  • Good understanding of accounting processes and internal control
  • Fluent in English and Swedish, both written and spoken
  • Experience from NAV and Mors is a merit
  • Good knowledge of Excel
