IPM is seeking to hire an Associate to Research & Investments
About the position
The Research & Investments Department is tasked with designing and developing the business logic underlying IPM’s investment operations. The unit is responsible for all position taking, and works chiefly with defining and evaluating systematic investment ideas based on macroeconomic and fundamental analysis. The key financial instruments in focus are futures and forwards on stock indices, government bonds and currencies as well as individual equities, all of which have a global reach.
The daily work in the department consists largely of mathematical and economic modelling and involves in almost all instances, substantial elements of programming and database management. In addition to this, the staff is also expected to participate in the daily production process within which they are responsible for updating the portfolios according to the systematic models’ investment logic.
The role involves
- Research work to develop the systematic investment strategies
- Extensive elements of programming and database management
- Daily production, i.e. the practical implementation of the strategies
- Cooperation with the departments for Systems Development, Trading, Risk Office and Middle Office
We are looking for someone with an MSc, or PhD degree in economics with good knowledge of mathematics and programming. You have experience with C ++, C #, Python or similar languages and are accustomed to working with databases. You have 0-3 years of relevant work experience and are interested in the financial sector. You can communicate well in both spoken and written English.
As an individual you are creative, self-motivated and good at working together with others. The position also requires accuracy and that you pitch in where needed.
