Electrical Motor Design Engineer
Being the largest manufacturer of motors in Sweden, Xylem design and manufacture motors adapted specially for use in our products. Most industries see a shift towards more efficient systems and high efficiency motors run with variable frequency are important parts in achieving this. Here at Xylem we have started to replace the traditional asynchronous motor with new PM motors and to strengthen our Motor and Drive Group we are now looking for a Motor Design Engineer.
In your work with developing customized electric motors and drives you will for example work with:
- Fundamental Electromagnetic design - using SPEED and FLUX FEM
- Dimensioning of motors using internally developed software
- Product development projects
- Implementing new materials in motor design
- Building and testing prototypes
- Implementation in production
- Support internal customers with technical issues
You will be a part of Xylem´s Electrical Engineering R&D unit in Sundbyberg and also work closely together with other development units within for example hydraulics, mechanics, manufacturing and purchasing.
Suitable background for this role is an Electrical/Electronic Engineer with an MSc or PhD in the field of motors and drives and with experience in designing electric motors.
Excellent skills in English, both oral and written, are essential to perform this work as part of a global company. Communication skills in Swedish are a plus.
